1.  A booking form must be completed & returned together with a booking fee of £40. Booking        fee will be returned at the end of the exhibition providing the conditions of the booking              have not been contravened.

 

2.  Booking dates offered run for two weeks from Sunday to Saturday. Incoming exhibits can        be hung on the Saturday evening from 6pm.

 

3.   Bear Steps has three gallery spaces available, you may apply for more than one if you wish:

 

      1)  The Main Hall on the ground floor provides room for approximately 30 average sized paintings, plus a                      large table which provides space for other exhibits.

                Cost for 2 week exhibition £100

 

         2)  The Balcony, first floor, has two platform areas which lend themselves perfectly to craft & draped              exhibits. Approx. 20 average sized paintings can be hung.

             Cost for 2 week exhibition £70 

 

        3)  The Link, first floor, a small room ideal for a more intimate exhibition. Approx. 12 average sized

              paintings can be hung.

              Cost for 2 week exhibition £40

 

         Commission-  20% of all gross sales

         The exhibitor should return their invoice & payment including any commission within one week of 

         exhibition closing.

 

           Cancellations-  Once booked if you need to cancel your exhibition the gallery requires four week notice. 

         Booking fee is non-refundable.

 

4.     A front door key will be provided for the duration of the exhibit (£10 returnable deposit). The key must        be returned at the end of the exhibition. Lost keys will be charged at replacement cost.

 

5.     All exhibits must be insured by the exhibitor. The gallery accepts no liability for damage or loss of           work.

 

6.     Exhibitors are responsible for all advertising & promotion of their exhibition, but the gallery will assist

         wherever possible.

 

7.    Any recorded music played must comply with the Law (music over 70 years old) but exhibitors can               provide their own music/public entertainment license if they so wish.

 

8.    The gallery is open daily from 10am - 4pm 7 days a week & exhibitors must provide their own  

        stewards to man their exhibition. Civic Society stewards are only responsible for the shop area,

          however the stewards will assist at their individual discretion & are always as helpful as possible to

          exhibitors.

 

9.     All items sold are the total responsibility of the exhibitor. The contract is between the buyer & seller

         and the gallery accepts no liability for disputes or inferior goods.

 

10.  No responsibilty will be taken by the gallery for any items left behind after the exhibition closes.

       We will do our best to store items for later pick-up wherever possible, but this is at the exhibitors own

         risk & no liability for damaged or lost items will fall upon the gallery.
